Optionally save pictures externally
When editing large databases with lots of pictures, performance can be terribly slow. If pictures were stored externally, the databases could be kept far smaller, improving performance. Even if saved externally, pictures should display in card view.

Yes, that would be exceptionally good idea and I thought that it is the way MobiDB may have been designed.

I bought MobiDB for creating a database of my homevideos. I also want(ed) to have a direct link to a local file of every video. So I could find and view my stuff in a very simple way on my 5TB harddrive. But the fact, that every video is embedded makes it impossible. Please make ist possible to have only the link saved, not the wohle file. PLEASE ;-(

I agree I really like the database but the option to store pdf documents, pictures and other files externally would be a great improvement. Embedding in the database really slows down the performance.

Not just for pictures. I have a table with 1000 rows and takes about 25 seconds to load on my Surface Pro. Switching from table view to card view takes a long time. Saving designer changes takes a long time.
